A new version of my bullet journal health tracker for chronic illness

injuries No Comments »

Hi guys,

before I show you more reviews, and yes there are more to come, let me show you my new version of the Bullet journal health tracker for chronic illness (here spondylitis).

It is a traveler’s notebook size because I wanted to incorporate more information but still easily readable by your fastpaced doctor and a good way to just jot down your health issues and try to forget about when exactly they took place.

Please feel free to comment, share your own ideas, and I wish well onto all my fellow chronic illness sufferers!

Join us Thursday, September 12, at 7 PM ET on YouTube for a special edition of our interactive Melanin Health Table Talks Panel: “Wash Day & Chronic Illness in honor of World Afro Day.”

This panel brings together patient advocates and hair stylists to navigate the intersection of chronic illness, culture, and identity through the sacred ritual of Wash Day. Chat in real-time with panelists and other attendees, share your own experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable tips on making your Wash Day a more empowering and manageable experience.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, grow community, and celebrate the beauty of Black hair care together! (Note: This is a chat-only session, so you’ll be participating by typing your comments and questions in a chat room using your name β€” only panelists will be visible on camera.)

Wash Day is more than a routine; it celebrates self-expression and self-love through natural hair care. But maintaining natural hair while managing chronic illnesses can be daunting. Fatigue, pain associated with chronic conditions, and limited access to hair care tools can make it even harder.

This panel will cover themes like:
Cultural Significance of Wash Day
Impact of Chronic Illness on Wash Day
Tips for Managing Wash Day with Chronic Illness
Emotional and Mental Health Benefits
Health Care Disparities & Chronic Illness
So, grab your favorite cozy blanket, snacks, and hair bonnet and settle in with us on Thursday, September 12 at 7 PM ET! Invite your friends, family, and anyone else who can benefit from this conversation!

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett) goes to visit Queen Mary (Kathy Burke) and beg for her life; Mary insults her mother, but agrees not to kill her.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
This British-made historical drama depicts the rise of young Elizabeth Tudor to Queen of England, a reign of intrigue and betrayals. In 1554, Queen Mary I (Kathy Burke) tries to restore Catholicism as England’s single faith. With no heir to the crown, she maneuvers to keep her Protestant half-sister Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett) from succeeding her, but her efforts fail. With Mary dead, Elizabeth is proclaimed Queen of England in November 1558. Elizabeth relishes the return from exile of her childhood sweetheart, Lord Robert Dudley (Joseph Fiennes). Chief adviser Sir William Cecil (Richard Attenborough) urges the young Queen to forget personal matters and instead address the country’s pressing problems. England is bankrupt, has no army, and is under serious threat from abroad. Elizabeth even has enemies within her own court, the most dangerous being the Duke of Norfolk (Christopher Eccleston). Hoping for an heir, Cecil suggests marriage candidates — King Philip II of Spain or the French Duc d’Anjou (Vincent Cassel) — to secure the realm. Elizabeth agrees to meet their ambassadors, but her true feelings are revealed when she meets Dudley for a secret tryst. French “warrior queen” Mary of Guise (Fanny Ardent) amasses troops at the Scottish border. Elizabeth bows to the pro-War lobby led by Norfolk, despite protests from her Master of Spies, the enigmatic Sir Francis Walsingham (Geoffrey Rush), but the decision to fight leads to a humiliating defeat. As dark clouds of court conspiracies gather, and the possibility of assassination looms, Elizabeth strikes out at her enemies and puts her trust in Walsingham. Shown at 1998 film fests (Venice, Toronto), this is the first English-language film of Indian director Shekhar Kapur, who shot on locations at Northumberland, Derbyshire, North Yorkshire, and at Shepperton Studios.

There are many ways to work through emotions with writing- a brain dump, a locus of control activity, and many more ways to write about your emotions.
Journaling is really simple; you just write about what you’re feeling or thinking or experiencing. Journaling can help you track your moods or identify triggering situations. It can help decrease anxiety and stress, and it can also help you gain a clearer perspective on your challenges.
Journaling has been shown to help your physical health too. It can lower blood pressure, help your immune system, and improve liver function.2 Writing can help you get to know yourself better and improve your relationships. Journaling has been shown to improve mood and fight depression.

In therapy I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systems Theory, positive psychology, and a bio-psycho-social approach to treating mental illness and other challenges we all face in life. The ideas from my videos are frequently adapted from multiple sources. Many of them come from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, especially the work of Steven Hayes, Jason Luoma, and Russ Harris. The sections on stress and the mind-body connection derive from the work of Stephen Porges (the Polyvagal theory), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing) Francine Shapiro (EMDR), and Bessel Van Der Kolk. I also rely heavily on the work of the Arbinger institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose our life’s direction.
And deeper than all of that, the Gospel of Jesus Christ orients my personal worldview and sense of security, peace, hope, and love https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe
